Dearden Design & Developments Ltd. is a family run civil engineering and building company with over 100 years experience in various skills and trades including piling, re-inforced concreting, steel fixing, ring beam construction, foundations, brickwork, drainage, roads and sewers, service trenching, landscaping (both hard and soft), tarmacing, flagging, kerbing and manufacture supply and installation of concrete bunds for interceptor tanks.
As well as commercial work undertaken, we offer domestic builds, renovations, extensions, walls, rendering, hard landsscaping, driveways and internal works that include plastering.
We have undertaken all types of work ranging from the construction of a new Vauxhall Masterfit garage in Prestwich, a 204 space car park for MyTravel in Rochdale, a 15,000sq mtr re-inforced concrete waggon park for Woolworths in Rochdale all the way down to domestic driveways for private clients.
Our client base is very strong including nationally known companies, county councils, schools, nursing homes, childrenss nurseries, manufacturing companies as well as domestic customers.
We are proud to work in partnership with Resapol the leading independent distributor of construction chemicals in the UK.
Much of our work is undertaken in factories, floor and wall repairs, new machine beds, where operations continue 24/7 and we have to adapt our work patterns around the client's requirements.
In recent years we have have also undertaken demolition works which have involved the demolition and site clearance of a large school in Middleton, a two storey factory in Dumfries, a large derelict public house in Rochdale centre, a large disused brick sub-station at a factory in Rossendale, a complete internal floor in a mill in Bury and an old stone Victorian toilet block at a school in Rossendale. Two of these were adjacent to busy main roads involving traffic controls. The stone from the toilet block was reclaimed and used in the construction of a large indoor horse arena set into the hillside at Holcombe, Ramsbottom. This was a difficult job as we had to dig down two metres into rock to lower the profile and although we used a steel frame set on concrete stanchion bases and adjoining ring beam we had to use timber cladding to blend into the natural environment.
We are very proud of our work with schools and childrens' nurseries working closely with the Head Teachers, Staff and Governors to ensure a professional approach. Our most recent works have been the civil engineering for classroom extentions at a Primary in Milnrow including bases, landscaping, drainage, playground construction, sevice ducting, etc. costing 100,000. We have undertaken adventure playground construction and security fencing around the sports fields at a school in Helmshore, Rossendale as we have also done at a Grammar school in Clitheroe, Lancashire.
